_About being a Lizard-creative writing-no edit_

I have been having sad emotions triggered by beng a young child in the 80's again. I am feeling specific sadness from product packaging assosiated with memories of daily life with just me & my mom.
they are little momories.
like me with mom in a parking lot sharing a pack of lifesavers.
or me at the storage unit sitting on a box with a can of orange slice that my mom gave me to drink.
It is the little gestures of motherhood that are getting me feeling sad.I am seeing the logos that like her are no longer here.

I have many memories of us in the station wagon around Hollywood & LosAngeles,
She looked at many Angeline bill boads and took many poloroids of her daily life in those days. & were are they now?

-graphic design was important to her It could be the way a sandwich looked on a parkbench or an orange apron on a checkered floor that would set off her creatively into an orange photo montage of her day that included giving me a soda can to pose with . I became someone to point out these design lessons to. she would say "you know why the ups logo is great?" "squint your eyes and see how it stands out?"

she bought food and aranged fruit in a way that always made sence to us aesthetically.
I was in her life after allot of loss had taken place, my father had just died and we were both figuring out ways to live together as a lot of new things were happening to us.
--------
In my early childhood years my grandpa and grandma were still alive and with my mom.
My grandma used to bring me wooden lizards wich she made out of wood for me to paint. She did it as a grandmotherly thing, but I felt like I belonged with them, because of loving approval they showed me by giving me special gifts.
She always used to say "be a good little lizard!" Looking back on this saying I think it's corny but at the time it made me giggle.
Me and her used to go for walks in the North Hollywood neihborhood I lived in.
She would say "look at the yellow belly flowers!" they were tiny little yellow flowers that grew on lawns, wich you had to get on your belly to see.

For lunch she & I would cut open fruit & see how it looked in the sunlight -kiwi was our favorite fruit to look through & pears were the least favorite.
My mom & grandparents had a certain visual loopyness that came from being constantly creative people, ontop of the consequences wich came from the lives they led before I was born. Me being alive gave them the chance for a renewal of faith in happiness.
My Grandpa used to sit me on his lap while he made macrame artwork from beeswaxed string. He used to make logs out of old newspapers too & sit infront of his paper fire, he never stopped making things with his hands until he died.He made sculptures out of bowling pins when he was a pinboy in Chicago going to the art institute & knew how to work with any media.
Even though I didn't speak at the time we had a genetic bond to see the world with unique vision. I dearly miss them.
